Math Building Blocks

The leadership team members put the isolated chunks of data together in order to examine the holes at each grade level. The team came to a very important conclusion. They realized that the holes were learner-centered problems, not that the problems were the learners themselves! (Boudett, City & Murnane, 2008) With this in mind, the team members focused on the building blocks of learning expectations at each grade level. The building blocks defined the benchmark expectation in reading/language arts (see extended response building blocks model) , and in math (see above) in line with the Common Core State Standards (CCSS).
